Charcoal or Wood for your BBQ grilling. Are you going to use charcoal or wood to grill your foods. In the year 1930 Uruguay grilled their meats using wood rather than charcoal. Meats were cooked directly over glowing wood embers, providing a signature smoky flavor. That sounds yum. When I checked I read that Uruguay use “native hardwoods” to grill meats because they provided a smoky flavor. If it was me today, I would use Oak Wood. Oak Wood burns exceptionally hot and clean, offering a medium smoke flavor that complements beef, poultry, and lamb perfectly. However, many other woods for BBQ’s grilling exist such as Pecan Wood that creates a smooth, sweet, and nutty aroma. We have Mesquite Wood for bold and earthy, then their is Hickory Wood for a strong savory and slight bacon like flavor.
